Faraci
Desiree (Desi) Faraci brings hard working values fused with creativity for your home buying or selling needs.
With a diverse background involving marketing, retail sales, corporate consulting, graphics design and a
fourth generation Italian restaurateur, Desi, merges her talents to get the job done successfully.
Dark Skies Realty LLC was born out of Desiree’s continual spirit of entrepreneurship. She desired to become her own Employing Broker and create a real estate business based on putting the client first. Her dedication to
serving the community is expressed through her process from beginning to end with the buyer and/or seller.
Desiree considers herself a “welcoming committee” to all things Crestone and the San Luis Valley. From helping
buyers find their dream home under our amazing stars to facilitating a seller’s needs to quickly get their listing
on the MLS and promoted, Desiree strives for diligence, effectiveness, treats everyone equally and with kindness.
With Crestone designated as a Dark Sky Community, Desiree wanted to accentuate what makes this high valley
unique to most places around the world. She and her family will always remember how impactful it was to gaze
for the first time under the stars, with no obstruction or light pollution. From that moment further, she was
determined to move her family across the country to live under the Dark Skies of Crestone. Now, she desires to
facilitate newcomers to discover what was a personal catalyst to move to the San Luis Valley and provide as
much insight, heart and guidance for their real estate journey.
For over a decade, she and her husband and two teenage daughters with family dog reside in Crestone, CO
in the great San Luis Valley. Desi fell in love with the high desert, moving from the east coast, and never looked
back. She enjoys creating art which is displayed in the local Crestone Artisan’s gallery, along with nature walks,
cooking international foods, volunteering in community events and world percussion playing. Her family is well
known for their renowned Mandala Pizza that was served in the San Luis Valley and wholesale throughout stores
in the Front Range since 2018-2023.

Desi helped me sell my land in near-record time. She went above & beyond to make everything work out as smoothly as humanly possible. She was great at communicating the entire process with a newbie seller like me, and kindly & swiftly dealt with any hurdle I potentially added into the process. If I ever get back into the. Crestone region, I can guarantee that she will be the first person I call. Desi rawks!

Overall, great experience working with Desiree and would recommend others to work with her. I echo what others have said regarding local experience and knowledge Desiree draws from to help a person find a good outcome to their buying/selling situation.

Desiree was very helpful to us in our recent purchase of a unconventional home (papercrete, passive solar, grid-tied solar) in a sparsely-populated area with no building codes and not-so-great record-keeping. She was very helpful in finding appropriate inspectors to give us an assessment of the condition of both the home and its power and heating systems. To add to the complexity, we do not live in the same state as the home we purchased, so needed to rely on Desi for things that needed doing locally (and frankly these were things that should have been the selling agent’s job) such as working with the county to find lost building and septic permits, verifying square footage, helping determine how to get the contract with the power company for the grid-tied solar assigned to us as new owners, etc…
